JOSEPH AND YOU

SCARS OF THE PAST

  • Joseph made a hasty exit because he was overcome with emotion for his brother and wanted to cry. Going into his private room, he wept there.Genesis 43:30

It has been said that the most painful cuts of all are those inflicted by others. Surely Joseph’s life exemplified that truth. The sight of Benjamin, after Joseph’s long separation from his family, was a raw reminder of his other brothers’ cruel deception. Though God had granted Joseph favor during the dark days of his slavery and unjust imprisonment, the young boy standing in front of him represented undeniable proof of what Joseph had lost—not only a brother but a beloved father and a homeland. Surely Joseph was tempted to repay his brothers for their evil deeds. Instead, he invited them into his home to feed them. He devised a plan that would reconcile himself to his family. He could have punished his brothers a thousand times over for their actions. Instead, he chose to extend forgiveness.

When others affect the course of your life, you face a moment of decision. Though you cannot change the past, you can affect the future by your response to the wrong you suffered at their hands. You can feed the fire of bitterness, or you can hold your scars before God and ask for grace to forgive others for what they have done in the past.
LORD, I do not deny the pain that I have experienced, but by your grace I give you those painful wounds, no matter how deep they are. I realize that I am powerless to fix the past or to change others, but I also understand that your love can heal me. I give you my scars, O God, and I thank you for the peace and mercy and joy that will flourish within me in the absence of bitterness.
THE VOICE OF SIN IS LOUD, BUT THE VOICE OF FORGIVENESS IS LOUDER.

MAN’S IMAGINATION AND THEIR THOUGHT!

As the population grew and societies developed, people again showed the tendency to want to exist independently of God. Like their original ancestors, they wanted to be as God and live for ever (cf. 3:5,22).
It seems that certain angels (the probable meaning of ‘sons of God’ in this story; cf. [[18.1.6|Job 1:6]]; [[18.38.7|38:7]]; [[27.3.25|Dan 3:25]]) had, in rebellion against God, taken human form and co-operated with ambitious people in trying to produce a race of ‘super-humans’ who would be unconquerable and immortal. In response God reminded his human creatures that they were mortal, kept alive only by his spirit within them. In punishment he reduced the human life span from its former length to approximately 120 years (6:1-4). (God’s punishment of the angels is possibly referred to in [[60.3.19-60.3.20|1 Peter 3:19-20]] and [[65.1.6|Jude 6]].)
People, however, did not heed God’s warning. Their wickedness continued to increase, till God decided that the only thing to do was to destroy them (5-8).

OVER 8000 CHURCHES CLOSE DOWN IN RWANDA.

The government’s new regulations are seriously threatening the Christian community.

Rwanda shuts down over 8,000 churches after new laws (churchleaders)
Rwanda’s government shuts down over 8,000 churches, following new laws.

Earlier this year, the Rwanda Governance Board issued new regulations for the religious community. These included basic requirements in terms of “safety, hygiene, infrastructure, and legality.”

So far, not less than 8, 000 churches have been closed. According to a report by Rwanda’s KT Press, the number of closed churches is going to get higher.
“On checking which churches were included, we learned that all churches are suffering the same fate and that even churches considered luxurious for local standards have had to close,” an anonymous local analyst told World Watch Monitor.
Concerning the enforcement of these laws, the anonymous source said, “in one village the church was closed while a wedding was ongoing. The couple and all the guests were simply told to leave the church during the service, and the church was closed.”
The analyst continued, “Another church was stopped from having services and other meetings (such as home groups) in a school hall as an alternative after all the churches in that parish had been closed. The church had timber instead of a metal door and window frames, and was told the roof also needed to be elevated ‘just a little.'”
Reportedly, these laws have not been approved officially but this has not stopped authorities from imposing the regulations on churches, who are expected to make the required changes within the given time frame of 15 days.
“It seems that the local authorities in the different districts initially had some freedom about the degree to which they could enforce the new requirements,” the local analyst also said. “However, it now seems that those who were more lenient have been rebuked and have become stricter. In one district authorities banned all meetings of a closed church, and congregants are not even allowed to meet in home groups.”

Everything you need to know about the new laws

Here are some of the new requirements:

Toilets being a certain distance from the church entrance. In one instance local authorities entered the church halfway through the service and ordered the people to leave because the church would be closed. This church has fulfilled 80% of the requirements and was not aware of this new requirement.
Congregations have been told they also need to install a certain kind of canvas ceiling, even though that material carries a considerable fire hazard.

One church was told it needed to change its roof and rebuild one of the brick walls. This will be hard for them to do as they have already been forced to make loans and depend on the goodwill of businessmen to meet the initial requirements.

Church access roads, as well as church compounds, need to be paved.

The inside walls and ceilings in the church must be plastered and painted. Exposed brick is not allowed anymore.

All churches must have lightning-conductors.

All pastors now need to have a theological degree. This was already communicated as a requirement, but now the degree needs to be from an accredited institute.

Another new law states that only institutions that also teach science and technology can teach theology, meaning that few of the many (often highly regarded) theological institutions or Bible schools are regarded as valid.

Explaining the need for these regulations, Prof. Anastase Shyaka - Chief Executive Officer of Rwanda Governance Board said, “In fact, we discovered that the number of churches were bigger than the number of villages in the country.”
President Kagame has said that he is surprised by the large number of churches in the country, adding that Rwandans do not have the means to sustain these churches

According to him, “The number itself is not a problem but in some buildings, three or four different denominations would hold prayer services at the same time, resulting in unbearable levels of noise and unsafe environment for occupants.”

He also responded to critics who say the government is either pushing secularism or targetting certain religious denomination.
“All prayer houses including Catholic, Adventists, Muslims and born-again Churches had issues. They were all assessed and those found not meeting standards were closed down,” Prof. Shyaka told KT Radio

American Bible Society Requires Employees to Follow Its Evangelical Shift

Doing this is not really bad, this has to with showing an example of a believer

1 Timothy 4:12 KJV.. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

1 Peter 2:21 KJV… For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

but is it also deeply possible and worth depth down to their heart ♥ of them to carry out, the full power of the Holy spirit and the characteristics of JESUS and the WORD OF GOD in this world 🌍.

RESIST SATAN NOW!

  • Bible verses about Resisting Satan with Truth

( From Forerunner Commentary)

Matthew 4:3-4

Even when Satan says truth, even when he quotes Scripture, he puts a perverse twist to it. How did our Lord fight Satan? With truth! That is how one defeats Satan: being confident that

Jesus Christ has already secured the victory and that God has put a hedge around us so that we will not fall into a situation confronting Satan that is beyond us, and being absolutely reliant upon the truth of God! Even though we may not be able to see how it is worked out, even though we may feel that following the truth of God is going to require a considerable sacrifice on our part, we have the example of Jesus Himself fighting Satan by relying upon the truth of God. He trusted what God said.

One might wonder why Satan used “if.” He did not use “if” to get Jesus to doubt His Sonship. Jesus knew who He was. Rather, he was trying to get Him to reflect on the meaning of “if.” Satan seems to be saying, “Surely, if You are the Son of God, You have the right to expect Your needs at the moment to be satisfied.”

  • SATAN CAN BE RESISTED Jesus did not fall for it. As hungry as He was, He knew it was a trap. He knew He did not have to be concerned about supplying His material needs because God would do it for Him. Did He not later say, “If God so feeds the birds of the field”?

This was a temptation for Christ to use His Sonship in a way other than its God-ordained purpose. What is the God-ordained purpose of our calling? “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” ( Matthew 6:33 ). That is the truth of God. God will supply what we need. So Jesus’ answer was, “Thank you, but I’ll just wait for God to supply My need.”

John W. Ritenbaugh

Satan (Part 5)

James 4:7

Resist and he will flee. What are we to resist? Notice the context. Resisting the urge to fulfill an unlawful desire would fit the context, because Satan is always trying to lead us into self-indulgence.

John W. Ritenbaugh

Satan

1 Peter 5:8-11

This rebellion at the end of the Millennium is often overlooked in the joy of considering Christ’s wonderful rule. Satan’s influence is so powerful he can influence millions of people to follow him seemingly overnight. Having drawn away a third of the angels from God ( Revelation 12:4 ; Isaiah 14:12-14 ) and overcome Adam and Eve, he has wielded almost total control over man.

His present power will be greatly magnified very shortly when he is cast down to earth to begin the Great Tribulation. He would deceive the very elect if it were possible (Matthew 24:24 ). It is no wonder Peter instructs us to be sober, to be vigilant, to resist Satan in faith that Christ might establish us in the end!
